Centenary Year 2007 Home Page
This is Colchester Golf Club's Centenary section, a collection of documents, short films and resources both past and from our centenary year.
The Dick Porter Chronicles
Past Secretary and Captain Richard (Dick) Porter's memories of Colchester Golf Club, recorded in writing in 1991 at the prompting of his son Jim, cover a large part of the Club's first 100 years. They are reproduced here with permission of Jim’s widow Lizanne, with only minor corrections where details appear incorrect, for the interest of local people.
1937 Handbook
This publication includes Club rules, photographs and advertising from the year that the second nine holes were added. 16-page leaflet, originally printed as 170mm x 115mm. Printed version from which this is taken was kindly supplied to the Club by Philip Truett.
