Membership

Colchester Golf Club is a members club, which means that Adult Members hold an equal share of the Club with all other full Adult Members whilst ever they are fully paid up members. Adult Members have the right to vote at General Meetings and vote for the Club Captain, the Management Board and other officers of the Club at the Annual General Meeting. Any member can put themselves up for the Management Board at the AGM and are actively encouraged to join in the general life at the Club. The Club Rules and Bye-Laws must be adhered to at all times.

Colchester welcomes applications for membership from existing golfers new to the area, golfers from other local clubs, and keen beginners - men, women and youngsters. Our aim is to provide a good golfing community for the town.

Membership at Colchester: a non-profit-making club

Membership offers the opportunity to golf regularly, to maintain a recognised handicap, to improve through shared culture, and to enjoy the club life. While there are different categories to suit individuals, the Club's main income comes from Full Adult members, and this is the group which makes up the majority.

New applications for membership from Ladies and Gentlemen are always welcome as some 40 vacancies come up each year. The Club operates no waiting list, and instead invites for interview from currently-outstanding applications every month.

Adult Membership

Ladies and Gentlemen have equal status and playing rights. There is an active Ladies Section within the club which, in addition to organising competitions for Ladies, also arranges some functions which are solely for Lady Members.

The current entrance fees are £1185 joining fee (payable over three years or five years) and the annual subscriptions of £876 which are also payable via Fairway Credit (direct debit over 6 or 10 months).
