Colchester Golf Club’s Juniors section offers a friendly, safe pathway from first swings to competitive golf within a well established members club. With 75+ junior members and access to practice facilities and a 9 hole academy course, Juniors receive weekly coaching, can progress to the main course and adult competitions, or simply enjoy social golf.
The Juniors section runs a full calendar and fields teams in county and national events such as the Youth Shield, Faldo Wedge and BCCS, alongside Golf Sixes for newer players, with a strong reputation for producing high-level county representatives.
At Colchester Golf Club we recognise that success looks different for every child. Whether that’s learning the basics of golf with confidence, making new friends, earning their first handicap, or competing for county honours, our coaches and volunteers tailor pathways, tee options and coaching plans so every junior — at every stage and ability — can set personal goals and recieve the support to reach them.
Juniors at Colchester Golf Club enjoy access to a full suite of development facilities, including the driving range, the Academy Course for short game practice and a dedicated swing studio for personalised lessons. They benefit from multiple Saturday practice sessions with a Club Professional and on-course support via dedicated junior tee boxes to make progression enjoyable and achievable. Seven-day access to the main course is available subject to holding an appropriate handicap, ensuring safety, fair pace of play and the right challenge at each stage of development.

Dedication to DiversityOur Juniors section is inclusive, creating a welcoming, supportive environment for every young golfer regardless of their background, gender, ability or experience. We follow robust safeguarding practices with clear reporting routes and a zero-tolerance stance on bullying or discrimination. Coaching and competitions are designed to be accessible, with beginner pathways, mixed-gender formats and dedicated Junior's tees so everyone can progress at their own pace. We actively encourage participation from under-represented groups, highlight positive role models, and make kindness and respect the norm on and off the course. |
