Our Academy features a 9-hole Par 3 course and a 300-yard driving range complete with brand new all-weather bays, grass-tee practice and short game areas. It's a great place to fine-tune your game and provides the perfect warm-up and practice area - exclusively for members and their guests.
All-weather driving bays
This brilliant new facility was opened in 2018 and allows members and guests to shape their skills all-year round - come rain, hail or shine. Colchester’s board decided to invest in the eight-bay driving range to boost the club’s already impressive practice facilities after listening to suggestions from members. Work on the Huxley, all-weather area started in August and the range was officially opened on October 13.
Large Grassed Practice area
Surrounded by our 9-hole Academy Course is our 300-yard driving range - readily available for members to work on their swing. During winter months, you have the luxury of two covered bays. We also have a smaller grassed practice area beside the first hole, allowing members to work on shots of up to 120 yards.
Warm-up Nets
For those who like a quick warm-up before hitting the golf course, we have two indoor nets next to our professional shop.
Practice Green and Bunker
This practice green gives players the opportunity to play a selection of shots from within 50 yards.
Chipping Green
Just a few footsteps from the clubhouse lies a generous sized chipping green, playing true to the course.
Putting Green
Adjacent to our 1st hole, our putting green is perfect to practise a variety of putts with various breaks to get the pace and feel before beginning your round.
